~ Life Enquiry for Men ~

The Practice of Relational Integrity

A Nine Session Course in Clear and Authentic Relating
Wildgoose Space, St Werburghs, Bristol, UK - Led by Anthony Johnston

Learn how to create healthy, fulfilling relationships

More connection, and what feels good, and less confusion, misunderstanding and conflict.

A structured men’s course in how relationships actually work - and how to handle them well.

For men ready to take responsibility for how they show up.

Introduction

Most men were never taught how relationships actually work.

We learn through experience - often through trial and error. Over time, patterns form, and under pressure, we repeat them.

Many of the problems people experience are rooted in relationships — misunderstandings, conflict, and, at times, deeper hurts that never quite get resolved.

You may recognise this: conversations that don’t land, tension that lingers, the same issues returning despite your efforts.

At the same time, you’re managing work, responsibilities and relationships that matter. It can become a steady drain on your attention and energy.

What This Course Is

This is a structured, facilitated course focused on how you relate - in real situations.

It’s not a drop-in group, and not based on discussion alone.

We work through a clear process over time, building understanding and practical capacity - especially in how you communicate, respond under pressure, and take responsibility for your part in relationships.

The aim is simple: to equip you with the skills to practise the art of successful relating across all areas of your life - intimate, family, social and professional - so you experience more of what’s good, and less of the strain

and difficulty.

What You Will Learn

Over the course, you’ll develop your capacity to:

  • Speak what’s true, without blame

  • Communicate more clearly and directly

  • Handle conflict with greater presence

  • Listen so others feel heard, received and understood

  • Recognise and shift repeating patterns

  • Take responsibility for how you show up with others

What Changes

As the course progresses, you'll begin to:

  • Know more clearly what you’re really trying to say

  • Express it in a way that invites understanding rather than conflict

  • Recognise where you get it wrong - and what to do instead

  • Experience being listened to and taken seriously

  • Reduce patterns that drain your energy

You begin to exercise more choice and awareness in how you relate - rather than reacting automatically.

How the Work Happens

The work takes place in a structured environment with clear agreements, confidentiality and mutual respect.

A central part of the process is structured enquiry in pairs, supported by group work.

You’ll be working with three key areas that underpin relationships: rapport, integrity and communication.

This allows you to work directly with real situations, develop clarity through speaking and listening, and practise new ways of relating in real time.

In Between Sessions - Where the Growth Happens

This work only becomes real when it’s applied.

Between sessions, you’ll set clear intentions for how you want to communicate and relate in your day-to-day life, then return to reflect on what worked, what didn’t, and what you’re learning.

This creates accountability and builds real confidence over time.

A Note for Fathers

If you are a parent, these skills are rarely something we’ve been taught.

Our tendency is to pass on what we learned - often without realising it.

As you grow in how you relate and communicate, this will have a direct impact on your children;

on their wellbeing, their confidence and their ability to develop healthy relationships.

Who This Is For

This course is for men (approximately 28–40) who:

  • Want stronger, more fulfilling relationships

  • Understand that relationships are key to a happy and rewarding life

  • Recognise patterns they haven’t yet shifted

  • Are willing and open to learn and grow

  • Prefer structured development over informal discussion

No prior experience is needed. But your commitment is.
